Obituary: Mary Lucy Ballard, 83, Holy Cross
Mary Lucy Ballard, 83, of Holy Cross, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 15, 1935, to the late Joe and Rosie Lyvers Reid.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Charles Bartley; two sisters, Mary Ida Nalley and Regina Cecil; and one brother, Adrian Reid.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Bernard Ballard;
five sons, Bobby “Booger” Ballard of Holy Cross, Wayne Ballard (Tammy) of Deatsville, Greg Ballard and David Ballard, both of Bardstown, and Joe “Junior” Ballard (Phillis)of Bloomfield; one sister, Pauline Cahoe of Bardstown; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Loretto with the Rev. Bryan T. Lamberson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 4-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with a prayer service at 7 PM with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.
Pallbearers are Gary Ballard, William Keith Nalley, Tommy Cecil, Roger Dale Cahoe, David Larry Cahoe and Mikie Cecil.
Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
