Monday, Aug. 13, 2018 — With less than 24 hours before tomorrow’s 4 p.m. Tuesday filing deadline, three additional candidates filed Monday for non-partisan offices on the November general election ballot.
BARDSTOWN CITY COUNCIL. Annette Beavers, 45, of the 200 block of South Fifth Street, filed Monday as a candidate for Bardstown city council.
Beavers is the historic district property owner who asked the council last September to remove her home from the historic district after she stripped the original wood siding from her home and eventually replaced it with a similar product the Historic Review Board would not approve. She appealed the HRB’s denial to the Bardstown City Council, and the council upheld the HRB’s recommendation. The case then went to Nelson Circuit Court.
According to the Nelson County PVA records, her home was built circa 1873.
FAIRFIELD MAYOR. Angela R. Ford filed Monday as a candidate for the office of mayor of the city of Fairfield. Ford, 40, is a resident of West Main Street and is currently the city’s mayor.
NEW HAVEN CITY COMMISSION. Maxie Court resident Mike Morris filed Monday as a candidate for a seat on the New Haven city commission. Morris, 67, currently serves as a member of the city commission.
DEADLINE 4 PM TUESDAY. The deadline to file a nominating petition for the November election is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2018.
The last day to register to vote in the November election is Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018.
