Obituary: Joseph Meredith ‘Joe’ Waldridge, 76, Bardstown

Joseph Meredith “Joe” Waldridge, 76, of Bardstown, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2018, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was born Oct. 18, 1941, in Bloomfield to the late Walter Merit and Rachael Ranschaert Waldridge. He was a former employee of Heaven Hill, was a member of Whiskey City Cruisers. He loved to restore old cars and work in the garden. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Waldridge and Joyce Satterly; and one brother, Edgar Waldridge.

He is survived by his wife, Judy O’Bryan Waldridge; one daughter, Jolie (Jeff) Waldridge Coulter of Bardstown; one son, Dr. Bryan (Sonja) Waldridge of Georgetown; three grandchildren, Sydney Coulter, Lainey Coulter and Bobby McHan; two great-grandchildren, Bryan McHan and Adam McHan; and his brother-in-law, Joe O’Bryan of Bardstown.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27, 2017, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with the Rev. Joseph Batcheldor officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, with evening prayers, and after 8:30 a.m. Monday at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home in Bardstown.

The family request that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Old Friends Farm, 1841 Paynes Depot Road, Georgetown, KY., 40324.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
