Obituary: James ‘Jimmy’ Harold Plouvier, 64, Hodgenville

JAMES “JIMMY” HAROLD PLOUVIER

James “Jimmy” Harold Plouvier, 64, of Hodgenville, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at his residence. He was generous toward his friends and family and never knew a stranger. He loved to cut up and tell outlandish tales just to make someone smile, including himself. He loved life, living on a farm taking care of all kinds of animals, and making things for others. His favorite story was when he cared for an orphaned baby deer, released it, only to have it try to jump through his living room window the following winter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edward Plouvier and Elizabeth Marie Reed Plouvier Underwood; one sister, Janice Lynn Hatcher; and one brother, John E. Plouvier.

He is survived by one sister, Judith Plouvier Dupuis; one brother, Joseph Carl Plouvier; two nephews and three nieces.

Visitation is 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, A memorial visitation will held 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven with burial in St. Joachim Cemetery in Hodgenville.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests all memorial contributions be made to your local food bank or homeless shelter.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
