Obituary: Timothy Austin Smith, 17, St. Francis

Timothy Austin Smith, 17, of St. Francis, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, as a result of an auto accident. He was born Jan. 19, 2001. He was a senior at Marion County High School and worked part-time at Ballard Heating and Air in St. Francis. He enjoyed softball, hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his parents, Timmy Smith and Stacey Spalding of St. Francis; one sister, Sammie Smith; one brother, Isaac Smith; his grandparents, Mark and Patty Holt of Bloomfield, Jude and Aimee Spalding of Fredericktown, and Gladys and Gerald Smith of Loretto; his girlfriend, Kristi Martin of Holy Cross; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto, with the Rev. Brian Lamberson officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Joseph R. Dant.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
