Obituary: James Ronald ‘Pickle’ Duncan, 72, Bardstown

James Ronald “Pickle” Duncan, 72, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at University of Louisville Hospital. He was born March 3, 1946, in Bardstown to J.W. Duncan and Catherine Reed Bryant. He was a construction worker, butcher, and was a member of St. John A.M.E. Zion Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, J.W. Duncan; and one sister, Juanita Duncan.

He is survived by two daughters, LaShawna Duncan and Autum Davis, both of Louisville; his mother, Catherine Reed Bryant; three sisters, Gloria Sheckles, Charlotte Grundy and Mary Ann Girton, all of Bardstown; one brother, William Authur (Shirley) Brewer of Springfield; a special friend, Dee Douglas; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is noon Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at the St. John A.M.E. Zion Church in Bardstown with the Rev. Roscoe Linton officiating.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at the church.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road is in charge of arrangements.
