Obituary: Karen Lynn Lawson, 68, Louisville

KAREN LYNN LAWSON

Karen Lynn Lawson, 68, of Louisville, formerly of Taylorsville, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at her residence. She was born Dec. 4, 1949, in Shelbyville to the late Arthur and DollieĀ (Jewell) Nation. She was a retired bookkeeper for Drs. Crain and Oder, a former bookkeeper for the Spencer County Sheriff Department, a self- employed beautician and a member of Lyndon Christian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Lawson; two daughters, Loraine (Ed) Hammerbeck of Louisville and Lisa (Doug) Scott of LaGrange; one son, Jamie (Mychell) Lawson of Louisville; one brother, Randall (Rose) Nation of Taylorsville; and three grandchildren, Sophia Hammerbeck, Jack Hammerbeck and Jasmine Scott.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home in Taylorsville with Sister Mavis Bennett officiating with burial in the Valley Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to The Healing Place, 1020 W. Market St. Louisville Ky. 40202.

The Greenwell-Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
