Man injured in Saturday evening motorcycle crash identified

Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 — The motorcyclist injured Saturday evening in a crash on Samuels Road has been identified as Dorian C. Floyd, 41, of Elizabethtown.

Floyd’s motorcycle was found against the guard rail near 950 Samuels Road, and he was found on a wooded embankment some distance away, according to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office. The man was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and then transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital. From there he was flown to University Hospital for treatment. He was listed Saturday in stable but critical condition at the hospital.

Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the accident, police say.

Deputy Levi Preston of the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
