County firefighters respond for odor investigation at Wire Lane home

Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 — The Nelson County Fire Department responded Monday morning after a resident of a home in the 1500 block of Wire Lane reported seeing and smelling smoke in his home on arriving home. The smell was in the garage and kitchen area.
The fire department responded at 8:25 a.m. to the call.
Firefighters investigated the odor and isolated the issue as a problem with a dishwasher in the home. The unit was isolated electrically and fire crews used their fans to remove smoke from the home.
Firefighters were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
