Obituary: Joseph Paul Vittitow, 73, Athertonville

Joseph Paul Vittitow, 73, of Athertonville, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at his home. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army and the owner of Vittitow Farms Inc.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Eugene and Mary Lillian Smith Vittitow; one sisters, Nancy Mattingly; and two brothers, Fred Vittitow and Harold Vittitow.

He is survived by two sisters, Jean Boone and Martha Bullock (Tom); one brother, Irvin Vittitow (Janice); a special friend, Guyula Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2018, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 9-11 a.m. at the chuch.

Pallbearers will be Irvin Jr., Danny, Charlie, Donald, Tom, and Rob Vittitow.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Catherine Academy.

The Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
