Obituary: Mary Aline Thompson, 86, New Hope

Mary Aline Thompson, 86, of New Hope, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, at Landmark of Bardstown Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born Dec. 30, 1931, in Marion County to the late Nicholas Ervine and Rosetta Watson Morris. She was a former employee of Nukote in Bardstown with 22 years of service and was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Thompson (2002); one sister, Celia Priddy; and nine brothers, Frank Morris, Earl Morris, Hizer Morris, William Morris, Walter Morris, Eugene Morris, Bob Morris, Danny Morris and Harold Leo Morris.

Survivors include one daughter, Ann Crepps (Steve) of Bardstown; three sons, J. H. Thompson Jr. (Jeaneane) of New Hope, and Louis Thompson (Mary Catherine) and Mark Thompson (Debbie), both of Cox’s Creek; two sisters, Louise Walker and Shirley Thompson (Bill), both of Louisville; one brother, Leroy Morris (Lois) of Louisville; 11 grandchildren, Jack, Joe Bob, Stacey, Ellen, Laura, Alex, Hannah, Emma, Stephen, Holly and Luke; and 12 great-grandchildren, Haley, Megan, Jacob, Erin, Taylor, Braxton, Beckham, Evelyn, Emmy Lou, Josie, Lucy and Benjamin.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 104 Church Street, New Hope. Her nephews, Archbishop Charles C. Thompson and the Rev. R. Dale Cieslik will concelebrate with the Rev. Matthew T. Hardesty and the Rev. Kenneth R. Fortener. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 PM with the Rev. R. Dale Cieslik.

Pallbearers are Jack Thompson, Joe Bob Thompson, Alex Thompson, Stephen Crepps, Luke Crepps and Jacob Thompson.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
