Obituary: George Lloyd Haydon III, 88, formerly of Springfield

George Lloyd Haydon III, 88, of Nerinx, formerly of Walnut Street in Springfield, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at the Loretto Motherhouse Infirmary at Nerinx where he had been a resident since 2011.

He is survived by four daughters, Elizabeth Jane Martin (Larry) of Carmel, Ind., Dorothy Haydon of Lebanon, Jacqueline Surface (Scott) of LaGrange, and Victoria Mackin of Lebanon; three sons, George Lloyd Haydon IV of Dallas, Texas, Eric Haydon (Christina) of Cincinnati, and Julio Burgos (Cindy) of Loretto; one brother, Duffy Haydon of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at St. Dominic Catholic Church with burial in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, and 7-10:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2018, at the Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
