Victim identified in Sunday morning fatal accident when vehicle hit pedestrian

Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018 — The man who was killed early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle has been identified by Kentucky State Police as Stephen Marshall Stansbury, 34, of Bardstown.
According to a Kentucky State Police press release, at about 4:54 a.m. Stansbury was walking in the westbound lanes of East John Rowan when he was struck by a westbound 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo operated by Brandon J. Middaugh, 25, of Longview, Wash. The Bardstown Police Department initially responded to the scene, and requested assistance in investigating the fatal accident.
Stansbury was determined to have died at the scene by the Nelson County Coroner. Elizabethtown Post 4 Trooper/Reconstructionst Dewan Kelley is currently investigating the accident.
