Sheriff’s office investigating report of low-flying plane near Manton
Thursday, June 15, 2011, 1:14 p.m. — An officer from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office is responding to the area of 629 Borders Lane off Manton Road for a report of very low-flying airplane. The caller to Nelson County Dispatch said the airplane was as low as 15 feet off the ground, and the caller wasn’t sure if the aircraft was just flying low or attempting to land in a field. The caller said they could not hear the craft’s engine after it passed overhead. A deputy checked the area and found no signs of an aircraft that landed in the area.
