Obituary: Shirley Faye Hensley, 80, Elizabethtown

Shirley Faye Hensley, 80, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2018, at Baptist Health in Lexington. She was a retired sales associate at J.C. Penny’s, a member of Franklin Cross Roads Baptist Church and attended Mount Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Hensley; her parents, Stephen Brady and Mary Parish Brady; and one granddaughter, Heather Barrett-Atkins.

She is survived by one daughter, Lisa (Bill) Barrett of Lawrenceburg; one son, Dennis (Kim) Hensley of Glendale; one sister, Osie Harper of Elizabethtown; one brother, Leo Brady of Nelson County; one grandson, Derek (Taelor) Hensley; and four great-grandchildren, Ivy Jude Hensley, Tyler Barrett, Reed Garlen and Aubrey Barrett.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Derek Hensley, grandson of Shirley Hensley, officiating. Burial is in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens in Elizabethtown.

Visitation is after 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2018 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bluegrass Care Navigators or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.

The Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of the arrangements.
