Obituary: Dorothy Hupp Gray, 96, Chaplin
Dorothy Hupp Gray, 96, of Hahn Ridge Road, Chaplin, died at 9:30 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Nelson County, born Jan. 19, 1922, to the late Leslie and Stella Hahn Hupp. She was a member of Chaplin Christian Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Gray (Sept. 30, 1998); four sisters, Ruby Hardin, Louise Terrell, Catherine Wilson and June Merziweller; three brothers, Leslie Hupp, Charles Hupp and Russell Hupp; and a great-grandson, Brad Hood.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Hood (Frank), Judy Colvin (Donald Lee) and Susan Calvert (Tommy), all of Chaplin; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown with Bro. Ronnie Hupp officiating. Burial is in the High View Cemetery at Chaplin.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the funeral home.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters, Shannon Prather, Shari LaFoe, Julie Shouse, Tina Gillis and Tonya Calvert Jones.
Serving as casket bearers will be her grandsons, Stevie Hood, Tony Calvert, Jason Colvin, Chad Hood and sons-in-law, Donald Lee Colvin and Tommy Calvert.
Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
