Obituary: Joseph Robert ‘Cob’ Mattingly, 68, Loretto
Joseph Robert “Cob” Mattingly, 68, of Loretto, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2018, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 27, 1950, in Marion County. He was a retired truck driver with the Marion County Road Department and a was a U.S. Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elias Alvin and Nellie Brockman Mattingly; one infant daughter, Angela Rose Mattingly; and one brother, Alvin Mattingly.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Carlene Mattingly; three daughters, Regina Hood (Michael) of Springfield, Amanda O’Bryan (Jody) of Bardstown and Kathy Lyvers (Jason) of Loretto; one sister, Joyce Hammond (Hugh) of Lebanon; one brother, Carl Mattingly (Lisa) of Loretto; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6785 Highway 52, Loretto with Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 3-8 Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m.
The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
