3 injured in Sunday afternoon head-on crash on Springfield Road near Bloomfield

Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 — Three people were injured Sunday afternoon in a head-on crash in the 4400 block of Springfield Road near Bloomfield.

At 1:49 p.m., Nelson County EMS, the Northeast Nelson Fire Department and the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Springfield Road for the head-on crash involving a 2013 Kia Forte and a 2011 Honda CRV.

Deputies determined that the operator of the Kia, Joey Greer, 34, of Waddy, was driving southbound on Springfield Road when he fell asleep. His vehicle crossed the center line and struck the northbound Honda operated by Christopher Keeling, 41, of Louisville. Two of the injured were treated by EMS and then transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital. A third injured person was treated at the scene and then transported to University Hospital in Louisville.

Deputy Jerry Hardin with the Nelson County Sheriff Office investigated the collision.
