Obituary: Doris Ann Yocum, 84, Bardstown

Doris Ann Yocum, 84, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2018, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Bardstown to the late Wood Lee and Leona Ritchie Vittitow. She retired after 27 years from Kroger as a meat cutter and a former employee of Ice’s Produce. She was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Thomas Woodrow Yocum; three sisters, Leona Vittitow, Alta Young and Geraldine Ice; and five brothers, Lupie Vittitow, W.L. Vittitow, Herman Vittitow, Houston Vittitow and James W. Vittitow.

She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis Ann Yocum of Bardstown; two sons, Woody Keith (Peggy) Yocum of Bardstown and Gary Dean (Vicky) Yocum of Botland; one sister, Betty Jean Montgomery of Bardstown; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with burial in the Bardstown Cemetery. Brother Danny Haynes will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2018, at the funeral home.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society.

Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
