Obituary: Freddy Jones, 84, Bardstown

Freddy Jones, 84, of Bardstown, died Monday, Oct. 29, 2018, at the residence of his son. He was born Nov. 4, 1933 in Middleton, Ohio, to the late James Madison “Matt” and Cora Hall Jones. He was retired from General Electric and was a member of The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

He is survived by one daughter, Alicia (Brian) Rice of North Carolina; two sons, Danny (Anna) Travis of Hodgenville and Matt (Laura) Jones of Bardstown; one sister, Hallie (Ira) Raisor of Lebanon; and eight grandchildren.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, at the The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Gerald Hegwood officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, and 12:30 – 2 p.m. Sunday at the church.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
