Obituary: Stephen Alan Williamson, 65, Hodgenville

Stephen Alan Williamson, 65, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Hosparus Care Center in Louisville with his family by his side. He was a retired rural mail carrier and a jack of all trades. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to help people, especially his family, and his trusting companion, Lefty. He was a lifelong member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Howardstown. He was born April 11, 1953, to the late James Walter “Bo” and Mary Margaret O’Bryan Williamson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rita Williamson Masterson, and two brothers, Shorty Williamson and Kenny Williamson.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Cathy Hall Williamson of Hodgenville; one daughter, Jenny Williamson (Michael) Basham of Louisville; two sons, James David Williamson and Joshua Adam Williamson of Louisville; four sisters, Shirley Higdon of Shepherdsville, Joann Higdon of Hodgenville, Wanda Howard of Howardstown, and Lisa Williamson of Howardstown;
five brothers, James (Velma) Williamson of Maryland, John (Glennah) Williamson of Maryland, Mike (Kathy) Williamson of Hodgenville, Joe (Rita) Williamson of Coon Holler, and Brian (Buffy) Williamson of Hodgenville; two grandchildren, Kaylin Basham and Brody Basham; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel with Bro. Trent Evans officiating with cremation to follow.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2018, and after 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018, at the funeral home.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home Hodgenville Chapel is in charge of arrangements 612 N. Lincoln Blvd. in Hodgenville.
