MAGISTRATE-ELECT ERIC SHELBURNE

Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 — Eric Shelburne, the winning candidate for District 5 magistrate in the Nov. 6th General Election, will be sworn-in to serve the unexpired term of Magistrate Jerry Hahn, who has resigned effective Nov. 1.

According to Judge Executive Dean Watts’ comments on Wednesday’s “Bradford & Brooks” radio show on WBRT, Watts said he sent a request to Gov. Matt Bevin earlier this week asking him to approve the move that will allow Shelburne to begin to serve as magistrate immediately.

In an email Watts sent to the media Thursday morning, he said he planned to administer the oath of office to Shelburne as soon as possible.

Other officials elected in the November election will take office effective Jan. 1, 2019.
