Obituary: James Marion ‘Jimmy’ Higdon, 69, formerly of Springfield
James Marion “Jimmy” Higdon, 69, of Winter Haven, Fla., formerly of Springfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, at Good Shepherd Hospice in Auburndale, Fla. He was a former employee of Lily Tulip in Bardstown and Ruggles Sign Co. in Versailles.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Church Higdon of Winter Haven, Fla.; four daughters, Teri Murphy of Cox’s Creek, Laura (Greg) Nalley and Sabrina (Michael) McKinley, both of Bardstown and Kim (Jim) Higdon of Springfield; two sons, John (Jenny) Higdon of Springfield and SSG James (Kelsey) Higdon Jr. of Lexington; three sisters, Patricia Barnes and Joan Marie (Francis) Mattingly, both of Loretto and Norma Lindgren of Winter Haven, Fla.; seven brothers, the Rev. Francis B. Higdon, MM of New York, Joseph Donald (Joanne) Higdon of Tucson, Ariz., Charles Willliam (Norma) Higdon of Pickerington, Ohio, Frances Arvil (Barbara) Higdon Jr. of Euless, Texas, William Anthony (Sue) Higdon of Payson, Ariz., Thomas Wayne (Nancy) Higdon of Tacoma, Wash. and Paul Vincent (Janice) Higdon of Louisville; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass is 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the St. Catherine Cemetery in New Haven.
Visitation is 3-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, and 7-9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield with a prayer service Tuesday at 7 p.m.
