Obituary: Pauline Simpson, 92, Bardstown

PAULINE SIMPSON

Pauline Simpson, 92, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Signature at Colonial in Bardstown. She was the former Pauline Parks, born September 4, 1926, in Louisville to the late Sim and Susie Katherine Carney Parks. She was a former administrator for Colonial Nursing Home for five years, admissions director at Windsor Gardens for four years, nurse’s assistant at Flaget Hospital for 17 years, a coordinator of volunteers for Hospice of Nelson County for six years, and was a home health caregiver. She was a member of Bloomfield Baptist Church, Flaget Hospital Auxiliary, American Legion Post 121 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a volunteer for Hospice of Nelson County.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Nathaniel “Jimmy” Simpson; one son, Jerry Oneal Simpson; two sisters, Scottie Wainscott and Darlene Crume; one grandson, Jerry Ray Simpson; and one great-grandson, Logan Thomas Simpson.

She is survived by one daughter, Paula Sue (Paul) Cabot of Plainfield, N.H.; four sons, James Ernest “Ernie” (Sharon) Simpson of Bloomfield, Larry (Paula) Simpson and Michael Wayne (Suzanne) Simpson, both of Lawrenceburg, and Rodney Burton (Pam) Simpson of Willisburg;

one sister, Joan Chowning of Louisville; one brother, Robert Wayne “Bobby” (Dolly) Parks of Bloomfield; eight grandchildren; 17-great-grandchildren; great-great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2018, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Pastor Richard Carwile officiating. Burial is in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Mooresville.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, 2018.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County or the Bloomfield Baptist Church.

The Houghlin Funeral Home of Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
