Obituary: Irene E. Cissel Bray, 95, Bardstown

Irene E. Cissel Bray, 95, of Bardstown, died Friday, Nov. 23, 2018, at Signature Health Care at Colonial Rehab & Wellness in Bardstown. She was born Oct. 2, 1923 in Nelson County to the late Jess and Emily Masterson Cissel. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a college graduate, and worked as a Nurses Aid at the Veterans Hospital in Louisville. She also loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Albert Bray.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Douglas of New Haven and Geri Bray of New Castle, Calif.; one son, Albert Bray of San Francisco; one sister, Helen Torp of Louisville; 11 grandchildren, Vicki Chatman, Tony Douglas, Franky Douglas, Mary Pile, Pam Rust, Billy Douglas, David Douglas, Kevin Douglas, Bobby Douglas, Susan Dones and Steven Baker; 21 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great-grandchildren; four great-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at the William R. Rust Funeral Home in New Haven. There will be a Memorial Mass at a later date at St. Catherine Catholic Church with the Rev. Matthew Hardesty officiating.

The William R. Rust Funeral Home New Haven Chapel, 167 N. Main Street New Haven is in charge of arrangements.
