Obituary: Thelma Emmett Janes, 92, Bardstown

Thelma Emmett Janes, 92, Bardstown, formerly of Fredericktown, died at 8:43 p.m., Friday, Nov. 24, 2018, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. She was a native of Barren County. She was born Dec. 26, 1925, to the late Frank and Docia Ellen Free Emmett. She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thomas Janes Sr. on Sept. 1, 1995; one daughter, Martha Lynn Golden (Feb. 19, 2007); two sons, Michael Joseph Janes (Feb. 14, 1951), and Robert Thomas Janes Jr. (July 4, 2017); one sister, Elsie Mae Logsdon (January 1994); and one brother, Virgil Lee Emmett (Feb. 26, 1969).

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Burns (Herbert) of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

The graveside service is 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at the Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, 2018, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.

The Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
