Two local men face drug-related charges after routine traffic stop Monday night

Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018 — A Bardstown man and his passenger were arrested Monday night on drug-related charges following a routine traffic stop.
At about 10:22 p.m. Monday, Nelson County Deputy Sheriff Levi Preston conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Michael Ramsey, 36, of Bardstown for a traffic infraction. Ramsey gave officers permission to search the vehicle; that search turned up drugs and drug-related items, including a large amount of methamphetamine, two sets of scales, a syringe and other drug paraphernalia.
Ramsey was charged with possession of controlled substance, first-degree (methamphetamine); possession of drug paraphernalia; improper display of registration plates; no operators license; no insurance; and no registration. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
Ramsey’s passenger, Daniel Greenwell, 29, of Bardstown, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
