Fogle to replace Audrey Haydon as local Democratic Party chairman

Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 — Audrey Haydon announced Thursday following a meeting of the Nelson County Democratic Party Executive Committee that she is stepping down as party chairman effective immediately.

Haydon recently accepted the position of Bardstown city attorney, and she told the committee that she felt it may create a conflict of interest while working with the non-partisan city council.

Party vice chairman Kenny Fogle was elected to fill Haydon’s term as chairman, which runs through May 2020.

Fogle first joined the executive committee in 1988, serving as board secretary and twice serving as vice chairman.

Mary Jane Greenwell was elected to replace Fogle as vice chair.
