State Rep. Chad McCoy elected to serve as majority whip of the Kentucky House

Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 — Following Thursday’s biennial leadership elections, the Kentucky House Republican Majority caucus announced its decision to elect Rep. Chad McCoy as Majority Whip for 2019-2020.
“I’m honored to serve the 50th House District and I look forward to serving the caucus in this new capacity,” McCoy said. “Kentucky is heading down the right path with historic gains in jobs and investments, and we must continue that momentum with good, common sense laws that bring the best to each community. I look forward to working with each member of the Kentucky House as we work to find consensus on items good for Kentucky.”
McCoy has represented the 50th House District since 2016. In his first term in office, Representative McCoy was the primary sponsor of an unprecedented five bills that became law, many of which focused on Kentucky’s thriving Bourbon industry.
He currently serves as vice chair of the Licensing, Occupations & Administrative Regulations House Committee as well as serves on the Banking and Insurance Committee, Health and Family Services Committee and Judiciary Committee.
The 2019 Regular Session will convene on January 8.
