Obituary: Frances Kateri ‘Teri’ Edelen, 66, Bardstown

Frances Kateri “Teri” Edelen, 66, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018, at Norton’s Brownsboro Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Lebanon. She worked as a nurse for more than 40 years, most recently for Active Day. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She loved and adored her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hillman “Fuzzy” and Mary Gertrude Mudd Blanford.

She is survived by one daughter, Joy Edelen Martin (Mike) of Louisville; one son, Stuart Edelen of Bardstown; one sister, Dianne Bleemell of Bardstown; two brothers, Jerry Blanford and Pat Blanford, both of Bardstown; four grandsons, Brennen Edelen, Camren Martin, Luke Martin, and Mason Martin; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery with the Rev. Terry Bradshaw officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, and 9-10:15 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Barlow Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to Masses or the donor’s favorite charity.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
