Obituary: Donald Wayne Bradley, 64, Bardstown
Donald Wayne Bradley, 64, of Bardstown, died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018. at Landmark of Bardstown. He was born in Louisville to Charles ” Billy” and Ruth Burba Bradley. He was a retired English teacher for Nelson and Hardin County Schools. He was a former sports writer for The Elizabethtown News-Enterprise. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church in Bardstown and former member of First Baptist Church of Sonora.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law, Larry Corder; his maternal grandparents, Roscoe and Lou Ella Burba; and his paternal grandparents, Charles and Madge Bradley.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Penny Corder Bradley of Bardstown; two sons, John Corder Bradley and K. C. Bradley, both of Bardstown; two brothers, Dale (Conna) Bradley of Upton and Doug Bradley of Bowling Green; his mother-in-law, Susie Corder of Elizabethtown; several nieces and nephews; and a special family friend, Krissy Yocum.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Gary Chesser officiating. Cremation will follow the services.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2018, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be given for a college scholarship for his two sons.
The Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.
