Obituary: John H. Werkman, 74, Bardstown

John H. Werkman, 74, of Bardstown, died Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Landmark of Bardstown. He was born Aug. 18, 1944, in Louisville to the late John B. and Lillian Marie Wahler Werkman. He was retired from civil service being an Systems Education Specialist at Ft. Knox for 30 years and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary “Geri” Wimsatt Werkman; four daughters, Diana Werkman of Bowling Green, Julie Anna Werkman of Davenport, Fla., Laura Marie (Brad) Peterson of Moreau, N.Y., and Erica Lynn (Scott) Atkinson of Sarento, Fla.; and three grandchildren, Mackenzie Gross, Nick Peterson and Nate Peterson.

The family has chosen cremation and a memorial prayer service at 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with the Rev. Mihn Vu officiating.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at the funeral home.

The family request that contributions be made to the Salvation Army.

The Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
