EMS, police locate woman who fell while hiking state park hiking path

Sunday, June 19, 2011, 4:16 p.m. — A 44-year-old woman required rescue Sunday afternoon after she reportedly fell while on a hiking trail behind the picnic area of My Old Kentucky Home State Park. The woman fell about five feet and landed on her buttocks, EMTs reported. The woman reported pain in that area, but also was reported to have blacked out twice after the fall.

The Bardstown Fire Department and Nelson County EMS were called the state park to locate and rescue the woman from the trail. The woman was located and firefighters brought her out of the woods. EMS transported the woman to Flaget Memorial Hospital for treatment.
