Obituary: Catherine ‘Cathy’ Wright Railey, 69, formerly of Springfield

Catherine “Cathy” Wright Railey, 69, of Louisville, formerly of Springfield, died at 9:15 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, at her home. She was born March 25, 1949, in Lebanon to the late James H. “Mose” and Catherine Linton Wright. She was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a homemaker.


She was preceded in death by one son, Aaron Terrell Loving; one brother, James R. “Spleen” Wright; and one great-granddaughter, Raelin Mireya Esther Johnson.

Survivors include three daughters, Lori Ann Railey Epps (John) of Lexington; Joeanne Railey (Tony) of Springfield and Lisa Michelle Railey Brown (Reggie) of Louisville; one son, William Allen Railey (Malinda) of Springfield; three sisters, Robbie Young of Louisville, Cecelia Hickman (Tootie) of Bardstown and Deloise Logan (Charles Richard) of Springfield; one brother, Joseph “Jodie” Wright of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Rev. Kevin McGrath officiating. Burial is in the St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2018, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Rusty Wright, Chris Essex, Cecil Railey and George Coleman. Casket bearers will be Reginald Brown, Tony Allen Railey, Morgan Churchill, Tyler Loving, Stephen Railey and Jatavian Churchill.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
