Obituary: Mary Louise Hardesty Cissell, 85, Raywick

Mary Louise Hardesty Cissell, 85, of Raywick, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She was born Aug. 7, 1933, in Raywick to the late James Louis Hardesty Sr. and Louise Violette. She was a former homemaker and member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vincent Cissell; one son, Gary Cissell; one son-in-law, Val Blatz; and six brothers, Junior, Mac, Bobby, Joe, Johnny and Jerry Hardesty.

Survivors include four daughters, Lou Ann Blatz and Cindy Ohlmann (Doug), both of Louisville, Robyn Howard (Michael “Doc”) of Lebanon and Terri Borders (Chad) of Bardstown; one son, Scott Cissell (Kathy) of Raywick; one sister, Ann Maney of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Jeremy Cissell, Cory Thompson, Michael Cissell, Alexis Beeler, Ben Blatz, Trey Abell, Courtney Branon, Paige Kupper and Madison Borders; and 16 great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim Graf officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. with Deacon Dennis May.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Cissell, Cory Thompson, Michael Cissell, Ben Blatz, Trey Abell, Michael “Doc” Howard and Chad Borders; Honorary Pallbearers are Alexis Beeler, Courtney Branon, Paige Kupper and Madison Borders.

The Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto is in charge of arrangements.
