Obituary: Wilma Joyce Goode Curtsinger, 77, Chaplin

Wilma Joyce Goode Curtsinger, 77, of Chaplin, died at 3:45 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018, at Landmark of Bardstown Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was a native of Washington County. She was born April 3, 1941, to the late Ralph Sr. and Mae Weatherly Goode. She was a member of the Green’s Chapel United Methodist Church, a homemaker and an avid gardener. She always enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Grover Goode and Larry Goode.

Survivors include her husband, Leo Curtsinger; her family, Wanda Chowning (Bobby) of Chaplin, Barbara Hubbard (Allen) of Prestonsburg, Janice Martin (John) of Scottsburg, IN, Donnie Curtsinger (Rachel) of Bardstown, Charlie Goode (Joe Ann) and Jimmy Dale Goode (Robin) of Bloomfield; two sisters, Janet Farley of Mount Washington and Beverly Jean Yates of Macon, Ga.; one aunt, Beverly Ann Fitts of Mount Washington; one brother, Ralph “Buddy” Goode (Brenda) of Cox’s Creek; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with the Rev. Winfred Hagerman officiating. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery at Chaplin.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers contributions may go to the Crusade for Children or the Alzheimer’s Association in her memory.

Serving as pallbearers will be Snider Chowning, Billy Chowning, Justin Curtsinger, Clinton Martin, Charlie Goode and Jimmy Dale Goode.

Carey & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
