Obituary: Joseph Paul Brady, 86, St. Francis

Joseph Paul Brady, 86, of St. Francis, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Marion County. He was a retired employee of Buzick Construction with 28 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Josephine Mattingly Brady; his parents, William Thomas and Minnie Lee Newton Brady; one sister, Jenna Rose Mattingly; six sons, John Brady, Boodles Brady, Randall Brady, and infants Joseph Richard Brady, Joseph Lee Brady and Joseph Paul Brady III.; and three brothers, Mike Brady, Jimmy Brady and Shug Brady.

Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Lucille Rogers Brady; four sons, Joseph Brady (Janice) and Paul Harvey Brady (Jessica), both of Loretto, William Brady (Angie) of Campbellsville and William Francis Brady (Edith) of Lebanon; four sisters, Fronie Van Arsdale of Louisville, Annabelle Newton (Joe) of New Haven, Jeanette Clark (James) of Holy Cross and Dorothy Lanham (Ricky) of Culvertown; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto. Burial is in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick. Deacon Joseph R. Dant will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, at the funeral home with a 7 p.m. prayer service.

Pallbearers are Steven Brady, Joey Brady, Justin Brady, Billy Brady, Derek Brady and Michael Brady.

The Mattingly Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
