Obituary: Curtis Ray Goode, 72, St. Francis

Curtis Ray Goode, 72, of St. Francis, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2018, at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was born Nov. 8, 1946, in Louisville. He was a retired diesel mechanic with UPS in Louisville. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War; a member of the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard, the Lebanon VFW and American Legion. He coached many different sports teams over the past 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orbey and Emogene Phillips Goode; one brother, Greg Goode; and one granddaughter, Shelby Lee Goode (May 26, 2018).

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Christine Elaine Goode; three sons, Eddie Goode (Tonya) of St. Francis, Doug Goode of Liberty and Mike Goode (Linda) of Springfield; one sister, Debbie Smith (Brad) of Louisville; three brothers, Ronnie Goode (Sherry) of Shepherdsville, Robbie Goode (Lisa) and Dickie Goode, all of Louisville; and five grandchildren, Sarah Goode, Savannah Goode, Emily Helms, Sawyer Goode and Finley Goode.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with Dr. David B. Whitlock officiating. Burial is in the Lebanon National Cemetery where military rites will be performed by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at the funeral home.

The Marion County Veterans Honor Guard will serve as pallbearers. His sons and Sawyer Goode will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
