Obituary: Lonnie Lee Jones, 66, Bardstown

Lonnie Lee Jones, 66, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2018, at his residence. He was born July 13, 1952, in Nelson County to the late James William and Mandy Marie Vaught Jones. He was a retired mechanic for Les Pinkham Lincoln Mercury.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary Lou Clark, Peggy Wilkerson, Molly Lorraine Richardson and Rebecca Ann Goodwin; and three brothers, Roy James “Steve” Jones, Jackie Jones and Dalton Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Smithers Jones, one daughter, Michelle (William) Tweedy of Hardyville; one stepdaughter, Theresa Marie Day of Lebanon; and one stepson, Jackie Ray Day Jr. of Bardstown; one sister, Loretta Marie Senterfitt of Fla.; two brothers, Jesse (Julia) Jones of Fla., and Pascal Jones of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Everett Dale (Buffy) Tweedy and Haley Michelle Tweedy (Jacob Estes); three great-grandchildren, Chloe LaShae Neal, Carly Sue Tweedy, and Callie Michelle Tweedy.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Simpson officiating. Burial is in The First Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation is noon-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, and 8:30-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
