Obituary: James Edward ‘Eddie’ O’Daniel, 70, Bloomfield

James Edward “Eddie” O’Daniel, 70, of Springfield Rd., Bloomfield, died at 10:24 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, 2018, at the UK Medical Center in Lexington as the result of injuries he sustained in a Dec. 14, 2018, ATV accident. He was the owner of Springhill Winery in Bloomfield.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn O’Daniel; two daughters, Katie (Sumner) MacDonald of Louisville and Diana (Cody) Laugenstein of Taylorsville; two sons, Paul (Amy) O’Daniel of Louisville and Eric (Brittnee) Duncan of Houston; his mother, Pauline Hamilton O’Daniel of Springfield; four sisters, Ginny (Fred) Osborne of Bardstown, Betty Maresca of Louisville, Donna O’Daniel Smith of Versailles and Debbie O’Daniel of Lexington; three brothers, Freddie (Angela) O’Daniel of Springfield, Steve (Lois) O’Daniel of Nicholasville and Juny (Kathy) O’Daniel of Lexington; and 13 grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Springfield with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, and 7-10:15 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2018, at the Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield. A prayer service is 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Eddie O’Daniel Springhill Winery Scholarship Fund and can be made at the funeral home.

The Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home in Springfield is entrusted with arrangements.
