Obituary: Iris Lavon Ballard, 87, Shepherdsville
Iris Lavon Ballard, 87, of Shepherdsville, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018. She was a charter member of Faith Assembly of God Church and an Avon representative for 62 years. She was a foster mother and her home was a Safe House for Seven Counties.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Eugene Ballard; one daughter, Donita M. Jefferies; one son, Michael L. Timberlake; her parents, Clarence Alfred and Minnie Maybelle Knieriem Wilkes; and one brother, Denzel Wilkes.
Survivors include four daughters, Elaine Houston, Cheryl Davis, Talitha Zimmerman and Jeri Dawn Crabtree; three sons, Doug Timberlake, Lenual Timberlake and Sammy Ballard; two sisters, Patsy Ekert and Verna Smith; three brothers, Basil Wilkes, Lovell Wilkes and Lowell Wilkes; 18 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at the Faith Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Rodgers officiating. Burial is in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery – Central in Radcliff.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019, at the Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction and after 9 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at the Faith Assembly of God.
