Obituary: Ludell Armstrong Moran, 85, Bardstown

LUDELL ARMSTRONG MORAN

Ludell Armstrong Moran, 85, of Bardstown, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 31, 1933. She was a graduate of Stratton Business College, an avid quilter, enjoyed puzzles, gardening, canning, entering her flowers, antiques, baked and canned goods in the county fair, and homemaker activities. She played piano and organ by hobby as well as for Mill Creek Baptist Church and sang in the Bloomfield Tree of Life. She was devoted to her family, church, and lifetime farming partner, her husband.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jimmie” Bell Moran; her parents, Silas and Josephine Armstrong; one brother, Harold Armstrong; and one niece, Mary Moran Bowman.

She is survived by two sons, James “Jimmie” Dell Moran (Linda) of Bloomfield and David Lee Moran of Bardstown; one sister, Nancy Snider Caggiano (Gary) of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Joe Armstrong (Elaine) and Tommy Armstrong, both of Bloomfield; three grandchildren, Tyler Moran of Bloomfield, David Edward Moran (Andrea) and Katrina Ballard (Pat) both of Bardstown; three great-grandchildren, David Caleb Moran, Ethan Ballard, and Aiden Ballard; and many beloved nieces and nephews, Jonathan Snider (Donna), Lorraine Scorza (Jim), Steve Armstrong (Sarah), Joanna Watercutter (John), Annette Wimsett (Raffo), Mary Lou Williams, Willie Armstrong (Ann), Kenny Armstrong, Sandy Hicks (John Wayne), and Cathy Bowman.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Barlow Funeral Home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery in Bloomfield with Pastor Danny Haynes officiating.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019, and 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at the funeral home.

Barlow Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
