Obituary: Margaret Jean Ryan Dudgeon, 76, Elizabethtown
Margaret Jean Ryan Dudgeon, 76, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at her home. She was a native of Paris, a member of the Democratic Women’s Club and an active member of St. James Catholic Church where she was involved in the Forever Young Club. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelors and masters degree and was a retired German professor from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Douglas Dudgeon; her parents, John T. and Lillian Fredrickson Ryan; and one sister, Jodie Ryan Brothers.
She is survived by one daughter, Amy Elizabeth Dudgeon Womack (Andrew Dean Womack) of Sheffield, England; one son, Dr. Matthew Ryan Dudgeon (Elissa Meites) of Atlanta; one brother, James Ryan of Germantown, Md.; two grandchildren, Matthew Grady Dudgeon and Darwin Marie Dudgeon; two stepgrandchildren, Ellie Womack and Joshua Womack; and two nieces, Terre Brothers and Julie Brothers Speaks.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown with the Rev. Martin Linebach officiating. Burial is in the church cemetery.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at the Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
