Boston man injured in early Saturday morning single-vehicle crash

Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 — A Boston man was injured early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle accident in the 3900 block of Boston Road.

According to a press release from the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office, at 12:18 a.m. Saturday, the sheriff’s office, Nelson County Fire and Nelson County EMS were dispatched to the area of the 3900 block of Boston Road for a crash involving a passenger car and utility pole. Investigators say that a 2015 Nissan driven by Chad E. Nix, 37, of Boston, ran off the highway and struck a utility pole, snapping the pole off and dropping utility lines to the ground.

Nix was treated at the scene by Nelson County EMS and transported from the scene to University Hospital complaining of possible head injuries.

The accident investigation is ongoing by Nelson County Deputy Sheriff R.B. Jones.
