Obituary: Roy Thomas McElroy, 70, Lebanon

Roy Thomas McElroy, 70, of Lebanon, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at Stanford Care and Rehab. He was born Dec. 24, 1948, in Finley. He was a U.S Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Leo McElroy and Annie Agnes Shirley McElroy; one sister, Nancy Moore; and two brothers, Afton Leroy McElroy and Johnny Mack McElroy.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Farmer McElroy of Lebanon; two daughters, Deborah Lynn McElroy of Alabama and Dorothy Mae (Josh) Drye of Lebanon; one son, Roy Thomas McElroy II of Lebanon; five sisters, Billie (John) Turner of Bardstown, Mary (Wallace) Parrott of Lebanon, Gloria McElroy of Finley, Roberta Lewis of Willisburg, and Brenda (Charlie) Goatley of Springfield; one brother, Charles (Brenda) McElroy of Finley; one brother-in-law, Charles Moore of Lebanon; three grandsons, Austin Abell, Collin Abell, and Carter Drye, all of Lebanon; one great-grandson, Easton Abell; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at the Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon with burial in the Lebanon National Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation is 4-8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at the funeral home.

The Bosley Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of arrangements.
