Obituary: Doris Jean Bowman, 87, Cox’s Creek

Doris Jean Bowman, 87, of Cox’s Creek, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at Sam Swope Care Center. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Union Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur Bowman.

She is survived by one daughter, Ann Osborne (Lloyd); one stepson, Gary Bowman; one brother, Bobby Shaw (Carolyn); two grandchildren, Anita Ortego (Joe) and David Carter (Brenda); and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A private funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019, at the McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington.

The McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home in Mount Washington was in charge of arrangements.
