Pair arrested on charges of printing and passing counterfeit bills

Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019 — Two area residents were arrested Monday, Jan. 14, 2019 and face charges related to allegations they printed and passed counterfeit money at a Bardstown grocery store.

According to a Bardstown Police Department press release, police detectives were advised by the Bardstown Kroger on Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, that David W. Works, 40, of Bardstown and Amanda S. Frank, 37, of Umatilla, Fla., had passed counterfeit bills at the store. The detectives’ investigation determined that the two were making the bills and had passed them at the Bardstown and Elizabethtown Kroger stores.

Works was charged with first-degree forgery; possession of a controlled substance, first-degree (heroin); possession of drug paraphernalia; receiving stolen property (firearm); and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

Frank was charged with first-degree forgery and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were lodged in the Nelson County Jail.
