Obituary: Joseph Leon ‘Joe’ Churchill, 67, formerly of Bardstown
Joseph Leon “Joe” Churchill, 67, formerly of Bardstown, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2019, at University Hospital. He was born Jan. 5, 1952, in Louisville to the late James Wesley and Maude Robinson Churchill. He was a truck driver for Nall’s Specialist Hauling, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of the Catholic faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mollie Sprinkle; one brother, Ricky Lydian; and several nephews.
He is survived by his wife, Melody Basham Churchill of Rineyville; one daughter he raised, Jennifer Wease of Jeffersonville, Ky.; five sisters, Mary Catherine Hickman of Bloomington, Ind., Sally Rimbert of Detroit, Rosie Churchill, Maggie Young, and Jennie Churchill, all of Louisville; three brothers, Mellwood Robinson of Lebanon, Horace Churchill of Springfield, and James Churchill of Louisville; and one grandson, Xander Wease.
The Memorial Mass is 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019, at St. Monica Catholic Church with the Rev. Jason Harris officiating.
Visitation is 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
The Houghlin Greenwell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
