Obituary: Dennis Robert ‘Dennie’ Doyle, 76, Louisville

DENNIS ROBERT “DENNIE” DOYLE

Dennis Robert “Dennie” Doyle, 76, of Louisville, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2019, surrounded by his family. He was a wonderful and loving husband and father. Raised in Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park area, he was a 1962 graduate of Male High School. He was a professional musician from the age of 14 and a long-time member of the American Federation of Musicians Local 11-637. He led his own band, The Graduates, for more than 40 years and performed with countless other professional musicians in the Louisville area. He was in the Army Reserves during the 1960s and was also a retiree from Heaven Hill Distillers.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Verna Doyle.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, DeLois Crady Doyle (originally from Lebanon Junction); one daughter, Wendy DeAnn Doyle (Terry O’Mahoney) of Louisville; one son, Dennis Todd Doyle (Qing) of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Ruth Lickteig; two granddaughters, Caila and Isabelle Doyle; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and his three grand-dogs, Bella, Coby, and Molly.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with burial in the Lebanon Junction City Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to all the Hospice staff at Norton Pavilion in Louisville.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus of Louisville or the Humane Society.

Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction is in charge of arrangements.
