Obituary: Billie Ray Alvey, 85, New Haven

BILLIE RAY ALVEY

Billie Ray Alvey, 85, of New Haven, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2019, at her home. She was a retired employee of Citizens Fidelity Bank and PNC Bank, and a volunteer for the Kentucky Railroad Museum for many years. She was a faithful member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, where she served in the choir for many years. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Cooper and Dorothy Medley Ray; and siblings, Larry Ray and Dollie Ray.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charlie Alvey; one daughter, Mona Snider (John); one son, Tim Alvey (Jackie); three sisters, Betty Johnson, June Mahoney, and Mary Ann Cahoe; and three grandchildren, Andrea Smith, Mason and Garrett Alvey; and one beloved great-granddaughter, Emaleigh Smith.

The Funeral Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, 2019, at St. Catherine Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, 2019, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
